For 18 months after Without Warning is published, Tom promotes the book across the U.S. with more than 60 presentations of an illustrated talk that tells the Athenia story. Without Warning is awarded “Best Historical Fiction” by the San Diego Book Awards and Tom is named an “Author of the Month” by the San Diego Central Library. During his book tours, he begins to explore the idea of a documentary based on the book and starts searching for a film maker to help him tell Athenia’s story.
